Suspension of police constables; Not Fair

When a dog bites somebody, the owner of the dog was held responsibility for the incident. It is not that we are comparing the police constable as dogs, but it is simply an approach to show that the government still is not delivering justice to the people of the state.
For sure the suspension of six police constables by fixing responsibility for the killing of Sapam Robinhood is not going to calm the anger of the people of the state. Everybody knows the police constables who were suspended yesterday were just pawns and they are not the main accused for the killing of the student during a mass protest staged on July 8. No doubt one among them might have been responsible for firing the rubber bullet or the tear gas shell which killed Sapam Robinhood but the police personnel alone could not be held responsible as he has been bind by orders from his superior officer. Had the police officer in charge of that day intervene any form excess towards the student demonstrating the mass rally the constable might not have fired it directly towards the students.
Not surprisingly, the motive of the government is very clear; the order for suspension came only after a month and that too without fulfilling the demands of the people.
For almost a month Imphal was put in fire with the protest for implementation of ILPS as well as punishment of the police personnel responsible for the killing of Sapam Robinhood. During the course of agitation as many as 200 protestors including students were injured and hospitalised. The momentum of the protest was so high that even state media have to stop publication for a day as staffs of media houses finds no way to reach their offices. While protesting to punish police personnel for their excess, there were also many complaints about more police brutality. For example, a girl student was severely assaulted by a male police inspector in front of the Secretariat office in broad daylight. A counsellor of the Imphal Municipal Council was mercilessly assaulted by the said police inspector at Keishamthong Elangbam Leikai while he tried to stop them from committing excess to some agitators.
At Singjamei a man sustain bullet injury after a police fire live bullet to disperse crowd. Interestingly this said police personnel was put under suspension immediately.
The suspension also coincided with the BJP MP in charge of North East putting up the issue about the killing of student during zero hour on the ongoing parliament session. Which means that, there is also a possibility that central government might have questioned on the reason why the police personnel responsible for the killing of the student were not put under suspension.
