Inauguration and Launching Galore

The present BJP government led by Chief Minister Nongthongbam Biren is no doubt a citizen-centric government. The CM is easily accessible whether it is from Social media or from any other medium, unlike previous CMs. When someone laments about some wrongdoing or evil in Social media, the CM takes necessary action, where this act of him is applauded by many. Also, the present government has launched and inaugurated many schemes, for the benefit of the public. But one needs to ponder, are these schemes or program properly implemented or for namesake only, just to put a feather in the cap for the present government?
One such example is the m-Pension app, which was launched by the Honourable Chief Minister himself on January 4, 2020. On hearing the news, many senior citizens rejoiced as they will be able to update their photograph and other information from the comfort of their own home and it is like a blessing in disguise during this pandemic, where the old and the senior citizens are the most vulnerable. It seems like a gift from the present Government to the senior citizens of this state, those who had worked and contributed to the state government in one way or another. However, there is no sign of proper implementation of the said app. There is no single app by that name in the Google Play Store or the Apple AppStore wherein it is highlighted on the official website, as the main features of this app that it can be installed on a smartphone. This is in contrast to what was highlighted on the launching of the app. It was publicized that Pensioners instead of visiting the Treasury Office can make their periodic photograph updation online through a smartphone or a desktop/laptop, from the comfort of their own homes.
It is understandable that it will take some time to digitalize all the pensioner’s accounts but they should not publicize that the feature is available to all.  While trying to log into a few pensioner’s accounts, were greeted with a message to visit the Treasury office. It seems like either the portal is not working or all the data have not been migrated to the portal yet. This is leading to confusion about whether this new scheme by the government is yet operational or for namesake only.
If it is the other way round, just for increasing the number of welfare schemes this government has implemented so far, then it would not be wise to act like this. It is more of a mockery to the senior citizens of the state. CM N.Biren should look into the matter as soon as possible. Not only this but for other welfare schemes and project implementation he has inaugurated or launched so far, he should follow up if everything is going by the book. If this inauguration and launching galore is to continue, the proper implementation should be checked, otherwise, there is no point in doing so, but a waste of taxpayers’ money just for highlighting the works done in election manifestoes
