We Continue To Strive Forward

What started out as a tiny seed of an idea amongst friends who were discussing ways in which we can collectively effect a change, however miniscule it might turn out to be, in our society have today grown into an institution called Imphal Times, and the journey has just begun. It has withstood the cynical comments and weathered the dark moments as any startup is bound to come up with, and we are under no illusion that the worst is behind us. It was not the lure of money or the trappings of fame that spurred us. Rather, it was the possibility of participating and doing our bit to shape our society we feel should strive towards. We still hold our convictions as strongly, and we will be carrying on in our efforts to contribute to bringing out the injustices, anomalies and social apathies chocking the natural progression of our society, despite the claims of the powers that be to the contrary. Do we still look the other way and hear what the well-connected, the powerful and the influential only want us to hear and believe? Should not the general public and those less-fortunate have a say and air their views and opinions without the fear or the fright of retributions and recriminations? Our collective endeavour has indeed been fuelled by the need for creating a society based on equality, one that justly rewards the diligent and sincere hardwork, not to mention the protection and respect for personal liberty. Our resolve has been strengthened by the many sweet and sour experiences we have had in this short span of time. We still stand strong and will continue to point out the wrongdoings and any other rot in our society through unbiased, uncensored and detailed reporting of the truth without the least of doubt or concern for ourselves- and we have had such unfortunate incidents which we are learning to take in our strides and draw strength from.
We owe it to ourselves to try and build a society not as we need to further our personal goals but to enable them to develop and sustain themselves and their future. These are the moments that makes everyone at Imphal Times forget the daily grind and rush and energises us to push forward. Our journey has just begun, and we will be relentless in our pursuit of the ideals we set out to achieve.
