PREPAK commemorates Indian Colonialism Resist Day

Imphal, April 25:

People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak commemorates the eleventh Colonialism Resistance Day. In a statement released by PREPAK, it blames the Indian election for the disunity among communities. Titled “Division among communities is a result of Indian election,” PREPAK reminds us of “the atrocities committed under the protection of the black laws by Indian armed forces, such as extrajudicial murders, rapes, and torture inflicted upon the people of Manipur.” It reads, “remembering these atrocities and the reprehensible and beastly conduct of the Mayang army at Patsoi-Langjing, since 2014, Indian Colonial Resist Day has been commemorated.” This year, the commemoration will take place on April 26, 2024. PREPAK will observe the remembrance at CHQ, GHQ, THQ, Transit Camps, Training Centre, and offices. The statement also urges the people of Manipur to resist and condemn these atrocities by the Indian military.
The statement reads, “The division and disunity among the people of Manipur have emerged due to the lack of the mentality that we are the owners of Manipur and we are responsible.” According to PREPAK, the people have a slave mentality, given the fact that Manipur is part of the setup of the Indian state and also because of the division sown by the introduction and acceptance of Hinduism. The mentality of the master and patriotism have taken a backseat; instead, the competition for wealth and power has become the culture, which has halted the emergence of capable individuals who are human resources. Therefore, the statement reads, “if we desire to save our motherland, we have to attain cultural and political freedom from India.”
PREPAK appeals to the people of Manipur that “since this endeavor of gaining freedom requires a revolutionary freedom movement, even though many cannot participate in it directly, they should support it physically and intellectually. The elections in Manipur have been conducted not to give rights to the people but to show to the world that the people in Manipur are electing their own government. They are conducted to create disunity among the people of Manipur,” the statement added.
