Large number of NSCN-IM cadres that were reportedly driven out by the Myanmar troops from forest area between Hengkot and Ngachan villages under Lesi township area of Saigang Division , Myanmar, towards the Khayang area of Indian side (near Indo -Myanmar Border Pillar No. 123) were reported to have moved towards the forest area in-between Chamu and Khayang area in Indian Territory.
The large number of NSCN-IM cadres (around 300 in numbers) which were camping at two different location at forest area in-between Hengkot and Ngachan villages which falls under the jurisdiction of Lesi township of Naga Autonomous Region, Sagaing Division, Myanmar near Indo-Myanmar border pillar number 124 and 125, reportedly left their camp and moved towards Indian territory before a large number of Myanmar troop reached Ngachan Village on November 4. Source from inside Myanmar said that more Myanmar army has been reinforced at the forest area between Hengkot and Ngachan villages in Myanmar early today morning.
On November 5 evening, sources from the Indian army said that there are no reports about setting up of camp by NSCN-IM at Khayang village near border pillar no. 123 in Indian territory and that there were also no report of any armed militants trespassing towards Indian side through Border Pillar No. 124 and 125 as the Indian security forces were keeping strict vigils. However, local source from the border area said that the last one day saw movement of Assam Rifles troops who were stationed as Chetric Khullen area towards Khayang and Chamu Village. There were no reports of any gun fight as of now, the source added. It added that following the entry of Assam Rifles troops those reported to have been taking shelter at Khayang village had moved towards the forest area in between Khayang and Chamu villages.
It further added that some of the cadres that cross through Border Pillar 125 had moved towards Huishu village.
The Indian troops are reportedly alerted in the area.
On November 5 afternoon, Imphal Times reported about the entry of the large number of NSCN-IM cadres that were driven out from the Myanmar territory. The camp is reported to have been run under the command of a Retired Lt. Gen. of the NSCN-IM identified as Hangshi Ramsom and one Brigadier of the NSCN-IM Nganingkhui and some of the top leaders of the NSCN-IM including Col. Mahongam and Col. Yurho . Whereabouts of the leaders is not revealed by the source with Imphal Times.
