The Federation of Civil Society Organisations (FOCS), Manipur, has elected a new 20-member Central Committee for the 2026-2029 term during its General Body Meeting held at its head office at Kabo Leikai, Imphal East, on September 26.
The meeting was attended by 67 representatives and delegates from FOCS’s component and subsidiary organisations. It also reviewed and adopted the report of the outgoing Central Committee before constituting the new committee.
Hemam Jogendro Meetei was elected president of the Central Committee, while Arambam Rabindra was chosen as vice-president. Ningthoujam Bhumeshwor was elected general secretary and Khundongbam Anand joint secretary.
Puyam Rakesh was appointed IPR secretary-cum-spokesperson. Rakesh Moirangthem, Naorem Nepolean, Khangembam Jadumani Meitei, Shahabuddin Cheshaba, Moirangthem Suresh, Laishram Shintha, Moijingmayum Israr Khan, Elangbam Romedy, Md. Ajimuddin Shah, Ningthoujam Rita, Sorokhaibam Ranjan, Vedajit Thounaojam, Chanamthabam Bidyasunder, Maimom Lalitkumar Meetei and Waikhom Ashalata were elected as executive members.
The General Body also deliberated on policies and programmes to be taken up by the organisation in the coming years.
The newly constituted Central Committee resolved to continue working towards achieving the objectives and goals of FOCS with the support and cooperation of its component and subsidiary organisations.
