A 36-year-old private lineman engaged in maintenance of a 33 KV power line was shot dead by unidentified armed men at Lasan Village in Tamenglong district today.
The deceased has been identified as Paojangam Chongloi, son of Lutjalam Chongloi of Wakotphai Village. He was reportedly working at the site in connection with the maintenance of a 33 KV power line when he was shot dead.
According to police, the incident occurred at Lasan Village, located around 29 km east of Tamei Police Station. The shooting took place at around 4 pm, according to the available report.
Following the incident, a team from Tamei Police Station proceeded towards Lasan Village. However, police reportedly encountered some difficulties while reaching the area and sought assistance from Kangpokpi District Police.
The deceased’s body had not been brought to the Kangpokpi District Headquarters till the time of filing this report.
