The 158 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force distributed poultry chicks, ducklings, water storage tanks and agricultural tools to villagers at Khonsakhul and Leilon Vaiphei villages under Leimakhong Police Station in Kangpokpi district on September 14, as part of a Civic Action Programme aimed at promoting self-reliance and sustainable livelihoods.
The programme was organised under the aegis of the Inspector General, Manipur and Nagaland Sector, Central Reserve Police Force. Training in small-scale poultry and duck farming was also provided to the beneficiaries.
The initiative was aimed at strengthening livelihood opportunities, village water security and agricultural productivity.
Addressing the gathering, the Commandant of 158 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force said the force remained committed to security and social harmony while contributing to community development and economic empowerment.
Women, youth and children participated in the programme, while villagers expressed appreciation for the support extended by the Central Reserve Police Force.
