A Mega Health Camp, Nanhi Muskaan (Little Smile) 2026, an outreach activities for underprivileged children was organised at the HFAO Thambal Children Home for Girls at Arong Nongmaikhong in Kakching District today.
Around 120 children from 6 Child Care Institutions across Kakching District attended the camp, where health screening and free medicines were provided to the children residing in the CCIs.
The health camp was jointly organised by the Department of Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry, Dental College of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal; the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Kakching of Social Welfare Department and Health for All Organisation (HFAO), in collaboration with the District Administration, Kakching.
Speaking on the occasion, Gajoo Rajkumari, District Child Protection Officer, Kakching, said the initiative was organised to promote the health and well-being of children living in Child Care Institutions. She said the camp was organised to provide health check-ups for children and ensure their overall well-being.
Medical specialists from the ENT, Dermatology, Paediatrics, Dentistry and Psychiatry departments of the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, conducted health examinations and consultations during the camp.
Nanhi Muskaan which translates to “little smile” is an initiative by the Indian Society of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry (ISPPD).
