Jan Kalyan Shivir launched across Manipur districts

The three-day Jan Kalyan Shivir (Public Welfare Camp) was launched across several districts of Manipur on Wednesday with the objective of ensuring doorstep delivery of government services and expanding access to welfare schemes for eligible beneficiaries.

In Bishnupur, the campaign began at the PRC Hall of the Mini Secretariat Complex with over 500 citizens in attendance. Deputy Commissioner Pooja Elangbam said the camp facilitates fresh registrations under various welfare schemes, correction of records and disposal of pending grievances. More than 20 government departments set up service counters, while beneficiaries received Ayushman Cards and ration cards. MSPDCL also conducted an awareness programme on grid-connected rooftop solar systems.

In Churachandpur, the district-level campaign was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar, IAS, at M. Songgel Community Hall, Tuibong. The DC said the initiative aims to bring multiple government services under one roof and announced that similar camps would be organised across all sub-divisions. During the programme, beneficiaries received beehive boxes, agricultural inputs, revenue certificates, PMAY-G allotments for internally displaced persons and forest saplings, while a free health camp was also organised.

In Kangpokpi, the district administration launched the campaign simultaneously at multiple locations across its sub-divisions. The camps focused on awareness generation, beneficiary identification, health screening and enrolment under key schemes, including Ayushman Bharat, CMHT, PM-Kisan, Kisan Credit Card, PM Awas Yojana, PM Ujjwala Yojana, PM Surya Ghar and various livelihood promotion programmes. Deputy Commissioner Mahesh Chaudhari, IAS, also visited Sandangsenba Maring village and interacted with local residents.

Officials said the Jan Kalyan Shivir campaign, being conducted from June 17 to 19, seeks to bridge the gap between citizens and government welfare schemes by ensuring timely access to services and benefits at the grassroots level.
