A mentally challenged woman (40 above) was found yesterday at Khagempalli Panthak. The women identified herself as Achoibam Somobala from Lamlai Telou Bazar. She was found loitering around the area after she lost her way back to her place.
Local people handed over her to Keishamthong Thangjam Leirak Meira Apunba lup yesterday evening. Later, woman activist Salam Ulka, wife of ex-councilor of Ward No 12 Y. Khomdom Singh said that a person called her about the mentally challenged woman who was wandering at the area. She along with other Meira paibi leaders went immediately and after understanding her condition they handed over the woman to Women Cell of Imphal Police Station.
