Shiva Chandra Sharma selected for PM YUVA 3.0 mentorship scheme

Manipur’s Gurumayum Shiva Chandra Sharma has been selected among 43 writers from across India for the Prime Minister’s Young, Upcoming and Versatile Authors (PM YUVA) 3.0 Mentorship Scheme. The announcement was made on December 23, 2025, by the National Book Trust (NBT), India, under the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
Shiva Chandra Sharma hails from Brahmapur Anarubi, Imphal East district. He was selected for his work titled “Manipuri Manohar Sai in Baratiya Shangeet, written in the Manipuri language, which explores Manipuri classical music within the broader context of Indian music traditions.
Sharma is an approved singer and lyricist of Manohar Sai in All India Radio, Imphal. He is also a regular columnist at Naharolgee Thoudang newspaper. He had already published books on Sankritan and Manohar Sai.
