The ADHOC Mizoram & Cachar XIV Battalion BSF today distributed different items under its Civic Action Programme to elderly residents of Keirak Gram Panchayat, Meira Paibis of Keirak Mamang Leikai, various clubs under Keirak Gram Panchayat, and Village Level Federation, children of Morning Star, and BDS Children Home. The programme was conducted at the Keirak Mamang Leikai Community Hall.
At the programme organised with support from Keirak Gram Panchayat and various clubs of Keirak village, Wabagai Assembly Constituency MLA Dr. Usham Deben, 2IC of ADHOC Mizoram & Cachar XIV BN BSF Sh. Prakash Raju Koshy, the battalion’s Deputy Commandant (Staff Officer) Sh. Rohit Bhatt, Additional SP (LO) Kakching L. Sangkarjit, OC of Kakching Police Station P. Priyobarta, Pradhan of Keirak GP Elangbam Ongbi Shanti Leima, and former member of Keirak Wabagai ZP S. Dhanabir Luwang attended the distribution programme along with BSF officers.
MLA Dr. Usham Deven speaking during the distribution programme, said that BSF play a very important role in the development. He expressed gratitude to the BSF for extending assistance to the elderly, Clubs, VLFs, Meira Paibis and the children, under the Civic Action programme.
During the programme, various items including footballs, volleyballs, ludo sets, carrom boards, school bags, Sintex tanks, solar lights, plastic chairs, tables, blankets, mosquito nets, ceiling fans, buckets, and whiteboards were distributed. A free medical camp was also organised, during which medicines were provided to children below 15 years of age.
