Treatment of dialysis patients to continue under PMJAY & CMHT Schemes

Hundreds of dialysis patients across Manipur can now heave a sigh of relief as Association of Healthcare Providers-India, Manipur Chapter, has confirmed that the treatment under key government health schemes will continue without interruption. The reassurance comes amid growing public concern over a possible suspension of services.
The AHPI, in a letter dated October 31, 2025, to the All Manipur Dialysis Patients’ Association (AMDPA), stated that in its recently held meeting with the Commissioner (Health), Government of Manipur, clear assurance has come through regarding the continuation of dialysis services at their hospitals covered under both the PMJAY and CMHT schemes.
A statement said that an internal meeting of AHPI Manipur members held on October 25 resolved to continue providing dialysis services under both the schemes without interruption. It stated that all the eligible patients would continue getting existing benefits as per the scheme norms, even as the hospitals are facing severe financial distress due to delay in reimbursement and increased cost of operation.
AHPI also expressed its concern and empathy for the emotional and economic anxiety caused to dialysis patients. “Given this, our member hospitals have decided to continue dialysis services under PMJAY and CMHT despite ongoing financial challenges,” the association stated.
The reassurance follows weeks of uncertainty among patients, who feared interruptions in treatment due to either administrative delays or possible changes in the government’s scheme extension timelines. The AMDPA had earlier submitted representations to the Health Department, demanding immediate clarification and government intervention to secure unbroken care among the state’s dialysis patients.
The AHPI Manipur Chapter, led by its President Dr. Palin Khundongbam and Secretary Dr. James Elangbam, has conveyed its stand directly to the patient association and the state authorities. Their proactive communication, noted AMDPA, has helped restore confidence among patients who depend on regular dialysis for survival.
