Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW) in association with Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission (MSRLM), Imphal West conducted a one-day awareness programme on “Addressing Obesity, Women’s Health & Wellness” at Takyel Khongbal Lane No. 13 Community Hall, today.
Thumlip Tiningpham Monsang, Chairperson, MSCW; Lourembam Dayabati, Member, MSWC; T. Chuongsin Koireng, Member, MSCW; Sk. Sophia Moyon, Member, MSCW; W. Phajatombi Devi, Member Secretary, MSCW; N. Prabeena Devi, DMM, MSRLM and S. Anupama, BMM, MSRLM attended the programme as the presidium members.
Thumlip Tiningpham Monsang, Chairperson, addressing the gathering, said that the programme was organised by the Commission to create awareness on various issues related to health and wellness among the women. She said when a woman in a family is hale and hearty, her family and her surroundings will be in good condition.
Stating that health is wealth, Monsang asked the participants to grab the opportunity to gain knowledge on maintaining a healthy lifestyle through the programme. She appealed to all women to put the knowledge gain through the awareness programme in practice to maintain a healthy life for a healthy family and a healthy society.
W. Phajatombi Devi, Member Secretary, in her keynote address, stressed on the objectives and activities of MSCW and appealed to the women to come forward to the Commission if they face any untoward incidents.
She said that the awareness programme was organised as part of the one-month celebration of Poshan Maah, 2025. The programme will enhance the knowledge of nutritional standards among the women and asked the participants to absorb to the experts’ view.
In the technical session, Dr. Changmei S. Ningshen, Propreiter, Dr. Changmei’s Diet Clinic, Imphal and Dr. Joybi Heikrujam (PT), Sr. Physiotherapist, RIMS, Imphal, deliberated on the topics ‘Nutrition and Balance Diet’ and ‘Health & Wellness’. The programme was attended by representatives of MSCW and women of Takyel Khongbal Lane No.13.
