The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Bishnupur District Branch, today extended relief assistance to the family of Laishram Ningol Nongthombam Ongbi Pramodini Devi (69) of Oinam Mamang Leikai, a Life Member of the Society who recently passed away after a prolonged illness.
The relief programme was led by IRCS Bishnupur District Branch President and Deputy Commissioner Pooja Elangbam, along with Chairman Dr. Wahengbam Gulapi. Essential relief items and financial assistance were handed over to the bereaved family.
On the occasion, Founder and former Chairman Irengbam Jugeshwar, Secretary Dr. Huidrom Romen, and Life Members Gurumayum Dhaneshwor Sharma, Soirensangbam Joykumar, and Waikhom Memcha paid tribute to the late member. A one-minute silence was observed in her memory, with prayers for her soul to rest in peace.
Speaking at the event, Irengbam Jugeshwar noted that the demise of Ongbi Pramodini was a great loss to the Society. He urged members to carry forward her spirit of service, stressing that the Red Cross must continue working for the welfare of the people and humanitarian causes.
