Assam Rifles today organised a bike rally from the Marjing Polo Statue in Imphal East to the Keithelmanbi Garrison in Imphal West to commemorate the 79th Independence Day and celebrate the success of Operation Sindoor.
More than 130 motorcyclists, including personnel of the Assam Rifles and bikers from the state, participated in the rally, covering a distance of around 32 km. The event aimed to instil a sense of national pride among the people and highlight the achievements of Operation Sindoor.
Speaking to reporters, Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) Maj Gen Ravroop Singh said the rally was part of the 79th Independence Day celebrations and the Har Ghar Tiranga mission. He expressed happiness over the participation of around 130 bikers, including women riders, and stated that the spirit of “Manipur is alive and kicking”. He said the rally carried a message of peace and harmony and reflected the enthusiasm of the public.
Maj Gen Singh further said the armed forces are always ready to extend any support required for peace and harmony in the state.
