Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla chaired a high-level review meeting at Raj Bhavan, Imphal, today to assess the progress of key urban initiatives in the state. The meeting focused on critical areas such as solid waste management, implementation of property tax, and the development of GIS-based property tax systems.
Commissioner of MAHUD, RK Dinesh Singh, along with senior officials from Imphal Smart City Limited, Planning and Development Authority, MAHUD, and Deloitte, presented detailed updates on the status of various ongoing development projects. The officials also outlined several challenges faced in executing these initiatives.
During the meeting, Governor Bhalla stressed the importance of timely and effective implementation, particularly highlighting the need for scientific waste management and transparent tax mechanisms to enhance urban governance. He urged all departments to work in close coordination and initiate public awareness campaigns to ensure greater community participation.
The meeting was also attended by the Chief Secretary and the Secretary to the Governor.
