The Lions Club of Imphal Leimarol, District 322D, conducted a tree plantation programme at Khundrakpam Makha Leikai near Asha Club, Imphal East, yesterday morning at 8:00 a.m. The initiative marked the first environmental activity under the leadership of the club’s newly elected president, Lion Memyo Ningombi.
The event witnessed the participation of several members of the Leimarol district, including Secretary Soram Sanayanbi Devi, who joined hands in planting saplings as part of the club’s continued commitment to environmental protection.
Speaking to media persons, Lion Memyo Ningombi said the club aims to organise similar plantation drives at least three times a month. She added that the Lions Club of Imphal Leimarol has been actively involved in various social initiatives including free health camps, eye camps, and other welfare programmes across different parts of the state.
The club reaffirmed its dedication to community service and environmental conservation, pledging to continue its efforts for a greener and healthier Manipur.
