The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), India, has announced the 11th edition of its annual Short Film Competition on Human Rights for the year 2025. The competition is open to all citizens of India, without any age restrictions, and seeks to promote awareness and sensitivity on human rights issues through the medium of short films.
The NHRC invites entries in Hindi or any Indian language (with English subtitles) or in English. The duration of the films must range between 3 to 10 minutes.
Participants are required to submit their entries online via Google Drive to the email [email protected]. The last date for submission is 31st August, 2025.
The prize money for the first, second and third best film will be Rs. 2,00,000, Rs. 1,50,000 and Rs. 1,00,000 respectively.
In addition, up to four films may be awarded ‘Certificates of Special Mention’ along with a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 each, based on the Jury’s recommendation.
