BJP MLAs, Central leaders making efforts to form popular government in Manipur: MLA Ibomcha

Four days after Union Home Minister Amit Shah remarked that the formation of a popular government in Manipur would be difficult until the differences between the Meitei and Kuki communities are resolved, Lamlai Assembly Constituency MLA Khongbantabam Ibomcha stated that earnest efforts are underway among BJP legislators and central leaders to bring about such a government.
Addressing media persons at the BJP Manipur state office, Thambal Sanglen, Nityapat Chuthek, following a meeting with BJP Manipur Pradesh President Adhikarimayum Sarda Devi, MLA Ibomcha informed that initiatives are being taken at various levels to pave the way for the return of an elected government in the state.
He was accompanied by Singjamei Assembly Constituency MLA Yumnam Khemchand during the meeting. Ibomcha said that senior leaders from both the state and central BJP units are actively engaging in dialogue to create a conducive political atmosphere necessary for the restoration of popular governance in Manipur.
Recalling a meeting held on May 30 at the residence of Thongju AC MLA Thongam Biswajit, he said that all BJP MLAs had come together to deliberate on the issue. A team constituted by the state BJP president was subsequently deputed to meet the BJP National President and apprise him of the collective views of the state legislators.
Today’s meeting with President Adhikarimayum Sarda Devi, joined by MLA Yumnam Khemchand, was part of the continued follow-up to these developments. MLA Ibomcha expressed that achieving a stable and representative government would require broader consultation and cooperation among all concerned, guided by the central leadership, to build a favourable environment.
