The Manipur contingent that participated in the 3rd Kudo National Championship Cup 2025–26 held at Netaji Subhash Chandra Military College in Pune from May 16 to 21 received a rousing welcome on their return at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport. The Kudo Association of Manipur (KAM), along with family members and well-wishers, organised the reception to honour the achievements of the young athletes and officials.
Manipur’s team delivered a commendable performance, securing a total of five medals — three silver and two bronze. The silver medals were won by Thongam Avinash in the Under-16 (–54 kg) category, Moirangthem Dinajit in the Under-15 (+58 kg) category, and Chirom Shinthoi Chanu in the Under-16 (–58 kg) category. Meanwhile, Nongmaithem Anthony brought home a bronze medal in the Under-11 (+42 kg) category, and Keisham Kemerun won bronze in the Under-11 (–33 kg) category.
The team was led by Laishram Singhajit, who served as both the team’s coach and the Secretary of the Kudo Association of Manipur. Singhajit also holds credentials as a National Referee and Judge. He was assisted by N. Washington as the Assistant Coach.
As the athletes and officials arrived, supporters greeted them with cheers and expressions of pride. Among those present at the airport to congratulate the team were KAM Vice President K. Babu and Th. Sunil, founder of the Success Education Foundation, Konthoujam, who also acknowledged the dedication and talent shown by the athletes on the national stage.
