Swiftly responding to a frantic appeal, through social media, made by Ksh Jabaskumar Singh, a student of SKAUST Sopore, Baramulla Kashmir, seeking urgent help for evacuation from Kashmir valley, amidst rising tensions gripping Kashmir Valley and other parts of Northern and North-Western India, N Ranbir Singh Commandant 84 Bn CRPF, immediately intervened and in close coordination with the University Administration, helped in timely and safe evacuation of 39 distressed students of SKAUST including 06 students from Manipur (Bihar: 09, Jharkhand: 01, Jammu: 01, UP: 01, WB: 04, Assam: 04, Tripura: 04, Nagaland: 03, Manipur: 06, HP: 01 Haryana: 01, Delhi: 01, Orissa: 06). The students, visibly distressed, were evacuated from Pampore and brought to Tac Hq 84 Bn Ramban in the evening of 10 May 25. The students were provided free accommodation, food and essential logistics and halted at 84 Bn CRPF Boom Ramban.
After breakfast, on 11 May 2025, the students were safely transported up to Jammu Railway Station, for onward journey to their respective states.
The students expressed their heartfelt gratitude to N Ranbir Singh Commandant 84 Bn CRPF and the personnel of 84 Bn for their compassion and valuable support during the crisis time. This humanitarian gesture not only ensured their safety but also reinforced the trust and bond between the force and the citizens it serves.
