Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has extended his blessings to the Manipur State Contingent participating in the 38th National Games 2025, which will take place in Uttarakhand. In a message posted on his social media page, he expressed immense pride in the 400 athletes who will represent Manipur in 19 different disciplines. He lauded their talent, commitment, and hard work, wishing them success and victory in the games.
The Chief Minister also took the opportunity to distribute advanced prosthetic devices, including state-of-the-art myoelectric hands and motorized wheelchairs, to Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) at the lawn of his bungalow in Imphal. The modern devices, manufactured in Manipur, are designed to aid PwDs in performing daily tasks and improving their quality of life. Biren Singh reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting PwDs, ensuring they can live fulfilling lives and actively contribute to society’s growth.
As part of the Chief Minister’s assistance program, PwDs receive grants and aid under the CMST scheme, while Students with Disabilities (SwDs) benefit from scholarships, free travel, and public transport concessions through the MST.
Earlier in the day, during a Cabinet meeting in Tamenglong, Chief Minister N. Biren Singh discussed the state’s focus on winning a gold medal at the upcoming National Games. He stressed the importance of preparation and motivation for the athletes and emphasized the state’s commitment to supporting them. The official ceremony, which took place at the Chief Minister’s bungalow, was organized by the Youth Affairs and Sports Department in collaboration with the Manipur Olympic Association.
Biren Singh expressed pride in Manipur’s consistent participation in the National Games, dating back to 1999, and noted that the state has always made remarkable progress. He added that the state’s achievements in sports would continue to grow as investments in sports infrastructure and training programs increase.
He also underlined that sports in Manipur are deeply intertwined with the state’s rich culture and traditions, making the athletes’ accomplishments even more significant. The Chief Minister emphasized the state’s focus on developing infrastructure, increasing investment in equipment, and providing ongoing support for sports persons to excel in various disciplines.
