The Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF) has issued a heartfelt condolence message following the tragic deaths of PLA Major Gulu, along with Red Army Captain Sopaiba and Lance Corporal Nongdon, who lost their lives in recent clashes. The RPF has recognized their ultimate sacrifice, which highlights the ongoing struggles in Manipur.
Major Gulu, also known as Babu Meetei, was from Jiribam Kadamtala and was the son of Oinam Kunjo Meetei and Oinam Ongbi Pishak Leima. Born on June 29, 2003, he joined the PLA and underwent Basic Military Training, earning his rank on January 31, 2004. His dedication and commitment to the cause led to his posthumous promotion to Major, reflecting the significance of his sacrifice.
In a statement released by Bangkim, the RPF Assistant Secretary for Publicity, Major Gulu was praised as a sincere, calm, and dutiful individual who served the organization with distinction. He played various roles in organizing activities across multiple departments, demonstrating his commitment to the party’s mission and the community.
The RPF emphasized that the sacrifices made by Major Gulu and his fellow soldiers should not be forgotten and called for unity and resilience among the people of Manipur during this challenging time, reiterating its commitment to continue the fight for the region’s rights and aspirations.
