The South Asian Institute of Rural and Agricultural Management (SAIRAM) in Imphal West District organized a felicitation ceremony to honor Prof. H.S. Shekhar Sharma, who has been recognized in the Stanford University 2024 Report of Productive Scientists of the World. The event, held at 11:30 a.m. in the institute’s conference hall, featured Manipur International University Vice Chancellor Prof. P. Kumar Singh as the chief guest.
In his address, Prof. Singh praised Prof. Sharma’s significant contributions to plant science, particularly his groundbreaking research on mushroom compost, flax fiber quality analysis, and pollutant detection techniques. He highlighted that Prof. Sharma has been ranked among the top 2% of scientists globally for the third consecutive year, with 80 research papers published in Scopus-indexed journals and over 1,900 citations.
The ceremony also recognized Dr. Wangkhem Herojit Meetei and Dr. Waikhom Jupiter Singh for their achievements, including the Adarsh Vidya Saraswati Rashtriya Puraskar National Award for exemplary research. The program concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Ph. Ibomcha Sharma, Administrative Officer of SAIRAM.
