Minister Dr. Ranjan launches National Deworming Day, Round 2, 2023

State-level National Deworming Day, Second Round, 2023, was launched today. The launching program was held at the auditorium of the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Nityaipat Chuthek, Keisampat, Imphal. The occasion was organized by the National Health Mission. Manipur.
Speaking as Chief Guest, Health & IPR Minister, Dr. Sapam Ranjan Singh said that the program of deworming is very important. All school-going children below the age of 19 should join the campaign of National Deworming Day. Taking deworming tablets will enhance the hygiene of our children. It is also carried out in all Anganwadi centers and schools, he added.
He said that there are significances of organizing such observations as it helps to spread awareness to the public. The role of media is also significantly big in this regard. Their role cannot be ignored. We need to make sure that all of us join the Deworming campaign for our children, he informed.
A poster on Deworming was also launched by the minister. He said that these posters should reach to all health centers, Anganwadi centers, and other health facilities in the state in order to fulfill the objective of the campaign. At the district level, Chief Medical Officers may be consulted. The campaign should be carried out to reach the grassroots level, Minister added.
Speaking as President, Commissioner Health, PK. Jha, IAS, said that convergence of Health, Social Welfare, and Education Department is required to fulfill the objective. Maintaining personal hygiene is also necessary. Relief camps should also be covered by the campaign. Concerned officials should act sincerely to roll out the campaign successfully, he asserted.
Deworming tablets were given by the dignitaries to the school children as a part of the program. Health Services, Manipur Dr. Kh. Sasheekumar Mangang, State Mission Director, NHM, Manipur Somorjit Ningombam attended the launching occasion as Guest of Honour. Officials and staff of Health, Education, Social Welfare Department, and DIPR, students of TG Higher Secondary School, Imphal, and others also attended the launching program.
