Imphal, July 22:Development works and projects in the state were answered.  In reply to the questions put up by MLA Kh Joykishan, it was revealed that the total amount allocated for PHED from different funding, including State Plan, NRDWP (Centre), NLCPR, NEC and NBA for the year 2012-13 and 2013-14 were ‘225.27 crores and ‘140.28 crores respectively, and that the works taken up during the period have made good progress, including the Imphal Water Supply (40% complete) and Imphal Sewerage (80% completed). In another reply to MLA Th Shyamkumar’s question,it was disclosed that M/S HVS Construction Materials Pvt. Ltd., Imphal is awarded the work of cleaning up the Loktak Lake at an estimated cost of ‘224.39 crores out of which ‘180.33 crores have been utilized. The ongoing work is scheduled to be completed by February 2015. Education Minister, in his reply to a query by MLA Samuel Risom on the programmes and projects for the improvement of Pettigrew College, Ukhrul, states that compound wall fencing is ongoing with an approved cost of 51.74 lakh by MTDC Ltd under DONER and is 50% complete at present. The minister also revealed various proposals for improving and modernizing the College which, among others, include construction of metalled internal approach roads with drainage system, installation of Solar Photo Voltaic (PV) modules, construction of overhead water tank with underground reservoir, procuring 4 buses etc. it was learnt in a reply to MLA Y Irabot’s question regarding the power and function of store Division of PHED that after the withdrawal of providing non-plan stock suspense allocation from 2007-08 onwards by the State Finance Department, the procurement of store materials through Store Division has been stopped but the store keeping work is still continuing. Transport Minister also replied to a question by MLA Th Shyamkumar that no Driving Training School has been set up by the state Government till date, but 3 private Driving Training Schools have been licensed to provide driving training in the state. MLA Dikho questioned on the time when the Government plans to start erection of Crash Barrier on NH-2 between Mao and Senapati to which Works Minister replied that no time frame has been fixed at present.
