Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee staged a sit in protest in front of the Congress Bhavan located at BT Road, Imphal today against the three controversial Farmers Bill which were recently passed in the Parliament. CLP Leader Okram Ibobi, MPCC President Moirangthem Okendro, CWC member Gaikhangam among others take part in the protest, which also observed the Kishan Mazdoor Bachao Divas. The sit in protest was organized keeping in line with the SOP of COVID-19.
The sit in protest is against the 3 Bills viz Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020 and the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020 which was recently passed in the Parliament.
MPCC President Moirangthem Okendro, demanded immediate withdrawal of the said 3 Bills and stated that the Bills are anti-people which will only benefit select key players only.
