PREPAK (Progressive) denies alleged link with 6 arrested youths

The People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (Progressive) has denied any connection between its outfit and six youths arrested by the Manipur Police Commando Imphal West team on allegations of recruiting new cadres and involvement in bomb-throwing incidents.

In a press statement, L. Ningsingba, Assistant Publicity Secretary of PREPAK (Progressive), identified the arrested youths as Usham Rakesh Singh alias Jenaresh alias Thouba (19), son of Usham Prakash Singh of Langol Ningthou Leikai; Yumnam Athoibi Chanu (19), daughter of Y. Indrajit Meitei of Langol Ningthou Leikai; RK Dayapati Devi alias Pinky alias Kichenbi (19), daughter of RK Sanjoy Singh of Tangkham Maning Leikai; Ahongshangbam Jet Meitei alias Jack (23), son of late A. Piba Meitei of Heinoupok Maning Leirak; Naorem Lanthoiba Singh alias Sana alias Thoichanba (19), son of N. Tiken Singh of Nambol Maibam Chingmang, Bishnupur district, presently residing at Taobungkhok Awang Leikai; and Ayekpam Stephen Meitei alias Alex alias Yekchetpa (19), son of A. Loken Singh of Takyel Khongbal Maning Leikai.

Ningsingba alleged that the youths were arrested by falsely linking them with PREPAK (Progressive), describing the action as unjustified.

He also appealed to the public to remain vigilant and closely monitor the activities of Manipur Police personnel operating in both the hill and valley areas.
