India and Myanmar inked MoU over controvertial border dispute

India and Myanmar today inked Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to sort out the border dispute  between the two country.The MoU was sign today at the Trade centre Moreh between officials of Survey Department of Indian and Myanmar delegates.The closed door meeting on “Indo-Myanmar international boundary Task” concluded today evening.The meeting was presented by 15 delegates led by U-Thet Oo Director Survey of Myanmar from Myanmar and five officials led by PV Sarnivas Director Survey of India from India side. In the meeting officials from Northeast state Manipur and Nagaland ware also presented. N Jeofery DC Chandel and Additional DC Moreh Robert and one Additional Secretary Home of Nagaland, said source.It may be mentioned that there is huge controversy on the Indo-Myanmar boundary fencing from last few years in Manipur state. The talk may bring a peaceful conclusion for the both side of country said a source.Earlier Pinak Ranjan Chakravarty, Secretary, Economic Relations, in the Ministry of External Affairs has stated that both India and Myanmar have inked an MoU on border area development. He said, “We do have some remaining boundary issues where there are problems of identifying where construction can be done or cannot be done, we are  trying to work that out,”.
