Army conducts on Nipah Virus Outbreak

 Moltuk Battalion of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) conducted a lecture programme in Company Operating Base Phaisanjang, Chandel District on ‘Environment Day and Nipah Virus, its Causes and Precautions’.
The lecture was conducted by Regimental Medical Officer of Moltuk Battalion. The aim of this lecture was to make the local populace aware about the necessity to safeguard our environment for a better future and also to educate them about the recent Nipah Virus outbreak. The Medical Officer emphasised on the precautions and prevention against the outbreak. The audience showed keen interest in the lecture with a strength of 48 civilians including children attending the lecture. The Medical Officer clarified many of their queries on the subject. Conduct of such an event affirms the Battalion’s commitment towards the welfare of the locals.
