Imphal, Dec.9: The 2nd India International Science Festival (IISF) 2016 has started on Wednesday, 7 Dec. 2016 at National Physical Laboratory (NPL), New Delhi under the focal theme “Science for Masses”, with the inauguration by Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Minister- Science & Technology and Earth Science, Govt. of India. The Science Festival was jointly organised by Ministry of Science & Technology, Ministry of Earth Science, CSIR and VIBHA and hosted by NPL, New Delhi. The IISF-2016 aims at communicating science and technology to the masses and provide a common platform to the common people and scientists. The IISF-2016 includes activities such as Young Scientists Meet, Scientific Workshop, National Level Competitions, DST-INSPIRE National Level Camp, Science Village/Mega Science Camp, Involving Students in Guinness Book of World Records, Industry-Academia Interaction, Showcasing of Outstanding achievements, International Science Film Festival, Mega Science , Technology & Industry Expo and Outreach & Pre-event activities etc.
The State Councils of Science & Technology from all the states in the country are participating in the Mega Science, Technology & Industry Expo. The Mega Science Expo aims at showcasing India’s contributions in the world of science, technology, innovation and society.
The Manipur Science & Technology Council (MASTEC), Imphal is participating in the Mega Science Expo. By occupying pavilion/stall no.21 in hall no.7, Expo.7 of IISF and highlighting the activities/achievements (science popularisation/communication, Human
resource development, Technology Demonstration & Transfer, IPR etc.) of the council in the state of Manipur through posters, video shows, display of its publications and interaction with the visitors. The Festival will continue till December 11,2016.
