Imphal, June 2: Armed group Maoist Communist Party, Manipur (MCPM) today appealed the people of the state not to be confused by the news story published by national media to suppress the peoples’ movement for implementation of Inner Line Permit System (ILPS). In a press statement, the outfit said that since the beginning of the peoples’ agitation to protect the indigenous people of the region, government agents have been trying every effort to sabotage the peoples’ movement. It said first intoxicants youths were sent out to sabotage the democratic protest and then later those agents utilized even senior journalist to convince the people that the ILPS demand will be impossible without another demand.
The Maoist statement highlighted the number of criminals who were elected in the parliament in 2014 parliamentary election . It said that these politicians are utilizing all their criminal mindset to end the indigenous people of the region.
The so called politicians are playing dirty games to mix the peoples’ movement with a group of people whom they declared as rebels so that the genuine cause could be diverted. Maoist warns the general public to stay away from such tactful game and also asked to remain aware from the writings of paid journalists. The statement further said that in the so called democratic country of India the journalist and the media house are being asked to provide source of news. As it remain true that the indigenous peoples’ are being targeted people should stand together to protect the indigenous people of the region, the Maoist statement added.
