Pravish death: Justice still not delivered; PAC urges govt. to hand over the case to CBI

Imphal, Nov 7: Justice is still not delivered to the Manipuri student Chanam Pravish, who was found death in Uttar Pradesh in a mysterious circumstance after he went missing on September 8 after witnessing a concert at Greater Noida.
A statement of the Peaple Action Committee Against the Brutal  Killing of Pravish Chanam of Uripok Achom leikai at Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh said that even though the Uttar Pradesh Government has directed for a investigation over the dead nothing has been done till today to book those culprits behind the death.
The committee said that, during a meeting with the Chief Minister of Manipur N. Biren Singh, the family and the committee has been assured to deliver justice. N. Biren Singh also showed a written assurance from the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh which stated that the matter will be investigated by the Uttar Pradesh if in case the investigation is not satisfies than the matter can be handed over to the CBI, the committee’s statement said while thanking the chief Minister N. Biren Singh for his concern to the case.
The statement said that when the family members went to inquire about the progress of the case at Noida, it is learnt that the case remain pending. It said the government should handed over the case to CBI .
Pravish Chanam was suspected to have been a victim of a gang involved in organ transfer. His death body was cremated by the government authority of UP without informing to the family member who were searching for his whereabouts by filing report to the police station.
