Imphal, Oct. 19: 17 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) distributed 12 solar lights to the people of village Bungdung, Kasong, Kamjong district.
The provision and installation of solar lights was attended by the Head Man and 10 prominent village representatives. The village has no source of electricity and has been facing problems since decades due to lack of connectivity and power supply. The program was followed by interaction with village authorities for cooperation between civil and Assam Rifles authorities. The villagers lauded the initiative of 17 Assam Rifles and their concern and efforts to provide the village with source of light which had been in dark for decades.
