KDHQDC demanded Waikhong Thongjao to be district headquarter

Imphal, Sept 11: Kakching District Headquarter Demand Committee (KDHQDC) for Waikhong Thongjao after joining hands with KDHQDC of Wabagai has demanded that Waikhong Thongjao should be selected as the District Headquarter for the newly created Kakching district. Speaking to the media persons at the Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul, M Lalit, President of KDHQDC, Wabagi said that Wabagai, Sugnu and Hiyanglam Constituencies are under develop and these need to be fully develop. The same mistake committed while assigning Thoubal District Headquarter should not be repeated, he demamded. Lalit also said that the selection of the district headquarter should be done after taking into consideration of the administrative conveniences and other required essentials. Taking all these consideration both the committee suggested that Waikhong Thongjao is the perfect place to be the district headquarter as the area is neither a agricultural land nor for the public but a reserve forest area, he added. Lalit further said that there is no use of urbanising the already urbanised areas.
