The Singngat-Sinjawl road connecting Guite Road, a state highway has become a curse for Singngat Sub-division and Thanlon sub-division of Churachandpur district headquarters, as well as those in adjacent villages which have been enduring severe hardships on a daily basis because of poor connectivity with the district headquarters of Churachandpur. When investigated by Imphal Times Correspondent, the state highway Guite Road connecting the Indo-Myanmar villages of Singngat and Sinjawl and its adjacent villages with the outside world lies in a dilapidated condition and is accessible only through a dumpy road, Sinjawl village is located about 87 kilometres from Singngat. On the other hand, under 60-Singngat Assembly Constituency, Thanlon sub-division is also facing untold hardships on a daily basis because of poor road connectivity with Aizawl, Mizoram. It was confided that some government institutions like schools, heath care centres and an office of the SDO exist only in namesake, as almost all the employees including the teachers seldom report for duty on the pretext of bad road communication along Guite road state highway. Contrary to government stipulation that the Suandoh JB School and Singngat government high schools accommodate students up to Class five, barring the Head Master and the staffs, there is no teacher to teach Science, Hindi and Mathematics subjects while computer class still remain a distant dream for the students. On the other hand, villagers expressed strong resentment over the absence of an SDO office in the Sub-divisional headquarter which have been hampering development in the areas.
