Singda villagers protest inclusion of their land to Kangpokpi district

Imphal, Jan 3: Large number of people in Sinda Dam area today staged protest preventing government authority from inaugurating the Kangchup Police Station under the newly created district Kangpokpi.
People of the area has been protesting inclusion of the certain area of Singda and Leimakhong either under Senapati district or Kangpokpi district. They demanded the area to be left with the Imphal West district. They also demanded to demarcate the district boundary before creation of any district in the state.
Kangchup Police station was scheduled to inaugurate today but protest from the villager compelled the state government authority to postpone the inaugural function.
