48 hours strike called in Senapati district from August 26 midnight

Imphal, Aug 25: Even as the Home department of the state government had clarified the reason for cancellation of the Constable recruitment DPC -2013 for recruitment of 2000 police constable, the recruitment appeared candidates continue its agitation by continuing the economic blockade at Imphal Jiri road and Imphal Dimapur road.
The DPC appeared candidates of Manipur Police recruitment 2013 batch and their respective parents/guardians had also announced 48hrs strike from midnight of August 26 in Senapati district.
Report reaching here said that around 200 goods ferrying trucks including oil tanker were stranded at Leingang Pokpi area near Jirbam.
On the other hand a joint meeting held yesterday at Senapati Mini Stadium Ground attended by well wishers, ADC members and leaders representing frontal organizations had deliberated on various steps to be taken up in the coming days in protest against the cancellation of police constable recruitment. A parents’ body was also formed during the meeting.
The meeting resolved to vehemently oppose the government’s move to conduct fresh recruitment and urged the government to revoke the cancellation order. To this end, there will be 48 hours general strike starting from midnight of Aug 26 till midnight of Aug 28. The indefinite economic blockade underway has also been intensified from today.
Furthermore, All Senapati District Candidates Parents Body of Manipur Police Constable 2013 Batch warned that no DPC appeared candidates will participate in the fresh recruitment slated to conduct on September first week.
While condemning the high handedness of the district SP, ADC member like P.A. Thekho, said that it is unconstitutional for a guardian of laws to take laws into his own hands.
“It is the court that will decide the course of action and the quantum of punishment, not the men in uniform. Instead, Senapati police SP K. Kabib (IPS) took matters into his own hand and 3 protestors were brutally beaten by him in the office of Officer-in-Charge, Senapati police,” Thekho said. “Police of any rank cannot execute any action at one’s own will without law to execute them,” he added.
Joining the parents’ body, well wishers and leaders representing frontal organizations also condemned the unconstitutional and deplorable action of Superintendent of Police K. Kabib (IPS) Senapati Police Division.

SP had done the right things. It will be more appreciated if the ADC members Theko be kicked in their dirty mouth. Why do candidates want to get jobs through backdoor?
