The Manipur University community which is on agitation for removal of the Vice Chancellor Prof. AP Pandey terms press release by the so called office of the PRO Manipur University –”a blatant indulgence in continuing his old habit of telling only lies”.
A press statement signed by Mayanglambam Dayaman, President Manipur University Students’ Union (MUSU), S. Jibon Singh, President Manipur University Staffs Association (MUSA) and Prof. I. Tomba Singh, President, Manipur University Teachers’ Association (MUTA) stated that the press statement issued by the presence if the with no signature VC, Professor AP Pandey in the guise of one PRO amounted to showing absolute disrespect to the people and authorities of Manipur, including the Constitutional Heads.
While appealing the VC immediately stop further indulgence in bluff and disrespect to the people of Manipur, the three communities of the University condemn such statement issued in the name of office of the PRO while there is no PRO in Manipur University.
Standing firm to their demand for removal of the VC Professor AP Pandey, the three constituent body of the Manipur University demanded early solution to the Manipur University Crisis. The three bodies also condemn the audacity to issue an unsigned Statement to the Press warning the University Community.
The statement further said the Press statement by the VC Prof. AP Pandey in the name of the PRO reflects in the most unfortunate manner on how the present VC, Professor AP Pandey, treats the Head of the State (the Honourable Governor) and the Head of the people (the Honourable Chief Minister) of Manipur as his subordinate officers to resolve the crisis in Manipur University rather than his own course correction.
In these circumstances, it would be more prudent for Professor AP Pandey immediately discontinue his disrespect to the people of Manipur and vacate his position, the statement added.
