Children’s Science Congress concludes

Imphal, March 19: Children’s Science Congress on the theme “Reaching the Unreached Through Science and Technology” concludes today at the Academic building, MIT, MU. Children’s science congress was inaugurated on Saturday, March 17 by the Governor of Nagaland.
Prof. Adya Prasad Pandey, Vice-Chancellor, Manipur University, Prof. W. Vishwanath Singh, Organising Secretary, 105th ISC, MU, Prof. P.P Mathur, General Secretary (Scientific Activities) ISCA, Arun K Pandey, Asst. Executive Secretary, ISCA and Prof. Ranjit Kumar Verma, Treasurer, ISCA graced the function as the presidium members of the occasion.
In his key note address, Vice-Chancellor of Manpur University said the young students are the future scientists of the country. Stating he pays more emphasis of the importance of the Children’s Science Congress, VC said that it is an important event to realise how sharp the minds of young children. We should provide opportunities for them in whatever possible way we, said Pandey since they will contribute more for a better India. He also lauded the organising committee for organising the programme in such a grand way and efficient manner.

Prizes and certificate were distributed to the participants of the Indian Science Congress Model Exhibition competition. Winners of the poster painting competition and NSCTC Project Presenters were also awarded. Cash prizes of rupees 5000,3000 and 2000 along with certificates were distributed to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position holders of the Local Model Exhibition Competition respectively. Consolation prize of rupees 1000 each with certificates and kits were awarded to the rest of the participants as an encouragement.
The function concludes with Vote of thanks was proposed by Arun K. Pandey , Executive Secretary, ISCA.
