Research findings should be applied for welfare and development: PB Acharya

Imphal, March 18: A one day ‘Intellectual Discussion on Indigenous Culture in North East India’ was held yesterday at the Jubilee Hall, Regional Institute of Medical Science (RIMS), Lamphelpat, Imphal organised by the Organising Committee of Indian National Fellowship Centre, Manipur Chapter.

Governor of Nagaland PB Acharya, speaking as the chief guest of the function, said Manipur University should take responsibility in conservation of the flora and fauna of the State, including the Loktak Lake which is the largest fresh water lake in the entire North East. He also opined that the thesis of research scholars should be put applied for development and welfare of the State.

Th. Shyamkumar, Minister of Forest and Environment, MAHUD, Town Planning and Horticulture and Soil Conservation, stressed upon inculcating punctuality as a habit to succeed in life. He also said that the function on ‘Intellectual Discussion on Indigenous Culture in North East India’ will benefit people of the State.

The function was also attended by Titular King Leishemba Sanajaoba, Prof. A. Santa Singh, Director, RIMS, Imphal and students among others
