One year of N. Biren Singh Govt: Prime Minister Modi inaugurates 4 projects, lays foundation stone for 7 new projects

Imphal, March 16: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that the government of India has sanctioned ten Indian Reserve Battalion for Northeastern states which include two battalions for Manipur.

“These two battalions will directly provide job opportunities to about 2,000 youths in the state”, the Prime Minister said these while celebrating one year of BJP led government in the state at Luwangpokpa Cricket Ground, Luwangshangbam in Imphal East. Chief Minister N. Biren Singh led government completed one year yesterday.

The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone of National Sports University, inaugurated Rani Gaidinliu Park, Mary Kom Regional Boxing Foundation and other development projects including the newly constructed Women’s Market at Churachandpur.

“Woman power in this state has always been a source of inspiration for the country. Today on this occasion, I salute the great revolutionary and daughter of the nation Rani Gaidinliu. I am also privileged to inaugurate today a park dedicated in her name, “ said  Prime Minister Modi.

“I am happy that the State government is working to reduce the problems faced by girls in Hill and Tribal areas for their education. The state government has undertaken construction of a new hostel for girls in the tribal area. I am fortunate to inaugurate one such hostel today”, the Prime Minister added. 

He further said, Imphal-Jiribam Road has been improved significantly and other development projects are completing in a fast pace in the last twelve months.

He also said, the remaining three months will be a time to make new achievements in the field of development.

The Prime Minister further said, rail connectivity projects in the North-East are implementing in the fastest possible pace with adequate fund flow.

He said for the development of the state schemes of about 750 crore rupees have been launched on Friday.

The Prime Minister said these schemes are linked to the dreams and jobs of youth, women empowerment and connectivity.

He said he believed these plans will bring development of the state to new heights.

The Prime Minister said he has always maintained that India’s growth story shall never be complete until the eastern part of the country progresses at par with the rest of India.

He said the North-East can be the New Engine of India’s growth.

Mr Modi also appreciated the sporting spirit of the state and laid foundation stone for the construction of the National Sports University.

Among others 1000 Anganwadi Centers were also inaugurated. These centres will work as a medium for improving the health of thousands of Mothers and their babies and will also benefit from the recently launched National Nutrition Mission.
