14 vehicles suspected to be stolen, drugs recovered from 13 person; Heroin No. 4 worth Rs. 42 lakhs seized

Imphal, Jan 2: At what could be term as a major strike by joint team of Thoubal Police Commando and 26 Assam Riffles, 13 persons including a woman and suspected to be drug peddlers and users were rounded from Sangai Yumpham Nungphou Mamng Leikai area at around 2.30 pm of December 31, 2017. 14 vehicles suspected to be stolen vehicles were also recovered from their possession.  
As per source, a combine team of the AR and CDO Tbl. rushed the site on Dec 31 afternoon after getting specific information about some drug users and peddlars loitering at the area under the supervision of K. Meghachandra, . Meghachandra Singh, Superintendent of Police, Thoubal. The combined team cordoned the area and conducted the search operation which leads to the arrest of the 13 persons along with the 14 vehicles. Heroin powder and WY tablets worth around Rs.. 38,040/- were also recovered from the possession of the arrested persons.
At another breakthrough aA team of Narcotic Cell Imphal East seized heroin number 4 worth around Rs. 42 lakhs from a drug smuggler on January 1 while checking at Lamlong bazaar near Lamlong Girl’s Higher Secondary School at around 6.30 pm.
Police source identified the drug smuggler as one Wilson Keishing (47) son of late Yarteo Keishing of Silient Village , Laikoiching in Senapati district. He tried to smuggled 350 grams of heroin No. 4 in the form of cake. The Narcotic Cell police team who seized the heroin was led by Sub inspector M. Shabir Ahamed.
